ESPN says he will get about 60 million for 4 years... that's 15 million per year for a guy who cant score and defensive ability is declining (about to turn 32 and Rebounds and Blocks have declined the past few years!). Do you think he is being overpaid? and was it a good move for the Bulls?

Of course he is overpaid as are most pro players, and he is probably overpaid more than most when you consider he can't score or shoot free throws. But even with all that plus his age plus the fact that his stats have been going down the last few years, he is definitely going to make the Bulls one of the better teams in the East. You have to remember that he has been the Defensive Player of the Year the last 4 years.

that is no longer accessible for Chicago to overpay Ben Wallace because they favor him that badly. Their contemporary middle, Tyson Chandler, may be 7'a million, yet he's so scrawny that any good NBA middle can personal him contained in the paint. besides, besides the actual incontrovertible reality that they'd a good draft, they did not p.c.. up a large guy. And, like the Pistons, the Bulls extra usually than not position self assurance of their guards to score, so there is not any favor for giant Ben to placed up monster numbers on offense. The Bulls are really searching for a 10 pt. 10 reb. guy who may also get some blocks and steals each interest, and that is what Ben Wallace is.

Yes. I am glad the Pistons didn't/couldn't up their offer because I think the Bulls did overpay for him.

He's aging and never was much of an offensive player. He fit in in Detroit though and was very productive there. I think his leaving will hurt the Pistons much more than it helps the Bulls.

Being a Detroit fan, I still can believe he bolted town over money. This from a man who just a few weeks ago claimed he still wanted to be a Piston and who was beloved as THE face of the 2004 world championship team.

Absolutely overpaid. Although his defense is good, his offense is zero. He is useless.

I really hope that it is not true for Bulls acquire Ben. Bulls are a team which can still have a good progress. They can use the budget to get a better player than Ben.

It is absolutely a fault for Bulls. Hope that it's only the rumor.

No kidding hombre.

This is why Joe Dumars is a genius of a GM.

Wallace should've been rewarded for his championship, not in a contract in future years that could seriously harm the Pistons if he goes south. This is what's wrong with pro sports today, players aren't rewarded for winning, they're rewarded before they even play a game. Pretty stupid, it alienates those who work hard, and encourages the good players to slack off.

Damn David Stern, figure it out already!

Enjoy the Windy City Ben, you're not worth that money in Detroit.

Yes, I think Wallace is overpaid as far as his basketball talents are concerned. For that money, he should be a factor on both ends of the court.

Now, for all of the athlete haters, sports is entertainment. People go to games to see players play. Thousands of people don't flock to your job to watch you do whatever it is that you do, because it isn't entertaining. Athletes bring the money to their industry, so they should get a proportional amount of it in return. Tom Cruise makes $25 million per movie - at least that was his asking price a few years ago, who knows what it is now - and no one is bichin' about him. Franchise owners dole out big dollars b/c they get big dollars in return. So stop being jealous and go practice, or train your kids to earn you some of that money.

Bulls could use more scoring. however the old saying is that defense wins championship (even though chicago wont win a championship for a while) definitely overpaid and overrated. cant shoot freethrows. cannot defend shaq or any powerful centers.

Yes, majorly overpaid. I think this move will turn out to be DISASTROUS for both the Bulls and Wallace.
