Sounds like your timing chain is stretched and your valves are still slightly opened when your plugs fire.

does it sound like a back fire,,or something loose,,because i had a customer tell me the same thing about there Monte Carlo,,and we looked for it,,and finally found it,,was a Little hole in the catalytic converter,,and what it was doing,,was discharging a small popping noise everytime they would start it,,this may be what,s wrong with your,s,,i do this for a living,,fo i hope this help,s you find it.

sounds like that you might a exhaust leak in you exhaust manifod.

muffler ....or perhaps a hole in one of the exhaust pipes...not sure just guessing you need a mechanic ..lol
