Im 14 and Im starting my period tomorrow, and Im going to wear a tampon for the first time because we're going to the beach tomorrow. I tried to put it in today to see what it's like (curiosity!), and oh my sweet moldy cheese it hurt like heck. I could not get it in one inch because it hurt so much.
Maybe Im doing it wrong? Any tips?
Could I just be really tight? Any advice welcome

its a LOT easier when youre on a heavier part of your flow....you could also try a smaller tampon....since youve never worn one, make sure you relax when you put it in...that way its easier to push because your muscles arent tight. also, make sure you put it in all the way...once its in, you shouldnt be able to feel it at all...if it hurts while its in, take it out and try again. good luck.

That is not a weird question at all.
Tampons are the ideal solution for active girls who play sports and especially swim, and even for other girls they are MUCH more comfortable than pads, they are cleaner than pads, and much more environmentally friendly than pads.
Tampons do not hurt, and they are not at all uncomfortable, though sometimes girls are a little bit uncomfortable with the idea of inserting them at first.
One way to get past your fear of using a tampon, is to become better acquainted with yourself. Some time when you are not on your period, but before your next period, and when you have some time to be alone, take a few minutes to explore and see what the whole area is about. This is something that is essential for any girl.
Get comfortable, use a hand mirror, and with your other hand spread yourself open and look around. It is not dirty, or ugly, or wrong in any way, it is your body, you should know what it is about and how it works. When you are comfortable, slip a finger inside a few inches.
Next time you have a period, you will be ready to give a tampon a try, and will have a good idea what sort of experience to expect. It is different, but it is not bad. Honestly a tampon is WAY better than a pad ever was. Don’t feel bad if you don’t get it quite right the first few times you try it – it can take a bit of practice. Just keep trying until you get it right. When it is right you won’t be able to feel it at all.
Using a tampon with an applicator is easier at first, but I think the OB without the applicator is easier, more comfy to put in, and much better for the environment. You will have to pick for yourself.
Which ever one you get, follow the instructions on the box, and do not leave it in for longer than the instructions say is safe.

If you try putting the tampon up without having you period there is no lubracation so it would hurt. Read the instructions well and make sure it is in all the way. If it hurts or you get a headache take the tampon out as some poeple are unable to wear them. Relax and breath deeply - easy to say but it wont go in if you tense up.

nicely, the persons above gave you consumer-friendly techniques to cajole your mom, even if it really is not nicely worth it to argue along with your mom it really is going to easily reason fights and he or she likely received't provide in. listed right here are some thoughts even if for hiding your pads. so that you do not pick each and every person to ascertain you taking a pad out of your bag, who does? The pocket would not artwork so nicely various the time because they stick out of the acceptable, so listed right here are some thoughts.. Do you've boots? Uggs? Fuggs? Snow boots? inspite of type of boot you placed on to varsity. Stick some on your boot so as that they are continually with you! if you're on the point the position you carry a binder with you everywhere between instructions then have a particular position on your binder or get an acordian (sp?) folder and keep them in between the slots, then merely take the binder into the stall with you. Neither of those artwork? maximum colleges/public places have a pad/tampon allotting gadget of their bathing room and they often value 25 or 50 cents. So carry some quarters with you and purchase them there in case you may have adequate money to finish that. continually have lower back-up although, incase they're out. one extra idea.. counting on the type of bathrooms your college has you're able to conceal some pads lower back there on the starting up of the day, I doubt everyone will be sticking their hand lower back there. in the different case there is mostly a brown paper bag contained in the metallic field the position you placed grimy products and also you could placed it outdoors of the paper bag (inbetween metallic and bag) the position it really is not very noticable to human beings, or %. up the bag, placed some pads down on the bottom and position the bag lower back on acceptable. human beings often do not bypass snooping round contained in the stalls so those might want to artwork too. desire I helped!

I agree. Try after your period starts, you're too dry right now, so it would hurt. They make smaller tampons for teens, so maybe you need to try them if you still have a problem. I hope this helps and you can have a good time tomorrow.

I also find out that it's easier when your are in your period before you insert it. It does make sense. I like Tampax Pearl the best, I can't just wear any kind. So if one kind doesn't work, you may not want to give up.

maybe you just tried at the wrong angle. Make sure you're relaxed and like sitting down, it should go right in at a 45 degree angle. You can't be that tight...unless your using jumbo tampons

ive never been succesful at them myself, except for the curved ones with the plastic applicator. If your flow isn't real heavy then put some vaseline on the applicator, or you could wear the pad and just wear boy shorts
