I don't think my cat is an a**hole, but this cat down the street does. Maybe you're an a**hole. I know I am!

People are like fish....after awhile, they start to stink! If you think that you need a new crowd to hang around with, then look into groups at your church. Since nobody is perfect, even church people have faults. But, you will find that church members are more sincere and don't have time to waste backstabbing or belittling anyone. They are too busy helping the poor, teaching the youth about God's word, feeding the homeless and the elderly and carrying out God's will. Ask your pastor or priest about groups that you might be interested in at your nearby church. You will be amazed at what God has in store for you!

It comes partly from an inability to view things from another individual's perspective. But more importantly it comes from a lack of desire to care about others even if one understands the other's perspective. Why there are so many people like this in society likely stems from their upbringing but not necessarily so. It could simply come from their experience. For instance it is possible an individual has learned through practice that he/she gains more from stabbing another person in the back than valuing that person enough not to do so. Animals are not free of this sort of behavior, in fact, they engage in this behavior regularly. A tiger is only trustworthy as long as it is fed. Humans have the capability to be trustworthy even if they see a weakness in another individual. Humans can choose not to take advantage of another person's weakness unlike the tiger who will spring upon it.

Contemporary American society has conditioned people to only think about themselves. Selfishness runs rampant in our society. A LOT of people simply just don't care about their neighbor or because. People also have little tolerance from those different than them (race, culture, background, religion, etc). People are conditioned from young ages to be prejudiced and it's very hard to overcome cognitional biases if that's all you've (general you) ever known. People are only interested in making you look bad in order to make themselves look better. Have you also noticed we live in a scapegoat society where people refuse to take responsibility for their actions; it's ALWAYS someone elses fault. People are only interested in looking out for themselves, it's a dog eat dog world. Society is turning many Americans into apathetic, insenstive jerks.
Animals do not possess logic. They act upon instinct, not emotions. Animals are competitive for surivival purposes. They don't do what they do to be mean, that would take the ability to reason, which they lack.

You are cynical and from your remarks it seems that you've had some life experiences that give you every right to be that way.. I'm that way too and paranoid, but I realize and I hope you do too that not everybody is a backstabbing a**hole. There are a lot of terrifice people in this world. You have to look for them and start to trust them.

Humans have brains, and they have desires and ambitions. We also have a theory of how things could be done rightly, properly, or efficiently. Put all these together and humans then think, plan, and strategize. All the abovementioned things--the lying, the backbiting, the apparent disloyalty--appear to be the manisfestations of people trying to get what they want at means that seem acceptable to them, even if these means don't appear to coincide with the generally "accepted" (i said accepted, not practiced) moral code.

Well I agree with you and have come to the conclusion that we need these evil people. Some people were invented just to be evil so the good people will know how NOT to act. It's just that simply! I try to keep these people out of my circle and just learn from them. At times it can be extremely difficult and rather depressing however this is what we have to work with so just grin and bear it and at the end of the day sit back and relax and say to yourself....I made it through the trenches yet another day...thank GOD!!!

Hi buddy...
This is LIFE.........yes, it is.
Every morning when you wake, and before turning in at night tell yourself aloud
**LIFE IS NOT FAIR**
Now, what you and I also went through a couple of years ago [believe me , now I feel so happy and contented (not complacent) with life] is the result of politically correct moral teaching in school and a weak parenting.
Also, knowing the working of sth, helps is reducing its negative effects.
So, when others do the things they do----------they are NOT doing anything bad/evil, they are just following their basic instincts.
PLUS, NO ONE SAYS AND CAN NEVER SAY THAT YOU CANNOT follow your basic instincts........ha ha
I advice you improve your health, exercise, build a body for starters (this would boost your confidence) and then make company of leaders, active, extroverts (like someone above said---learn from the competition, I do it ALL the time ..........hi hi).
I believe that competition is inevitable becuase YOU are not the only male/female in this world and EACH ONE of us has desires........
So cheer up, develop faith in (any) God and restart your life.....Change, ALWAYS...................Change is the law, for the better depends on you!...
Bye

I totally agree! it's called "human" nature and other animals don't act like that because they arn't human, they mostly go on instints and don't have posible thumbs making them able to take over and think they controll the universe for a little while, don't worry it won't be like this forever I bet dinosaurs did the same things only in a different manner

It is everywhere, but there is a few special people out there. They are far and few between, but they are there, asking the same quesiton you are. Cherish the ones you trust, and keep one eye open on the rest, which is pretty much almost everybody. Good Luck!!!

I don't know, I just accept that humans can be idiots. I treasure the ones that aren't. And I give praise to my pets, because for the most part I like my dogs more than most people.
