Yes the referee was very good...he kept a firm control over the match without showing too many cards. But I think also contributing to the match was the excellent team spirit showed by both Germans & Italians...there was no scuffles between the players. There were no unnecessary rough challenges...the refs job was made easy by the players who concentrated on the game rather than the excesses.

It was a great game, with a great ref. Not the best ever, but perhaps the best this tournament. I think that Ref from Italy, who reffed the final of the last world cup, was one of the best ever. Funny, because now Italy doesnt seem to be so great in that department.

Refs were all right, but who cares? Germany lost, man! What an upset! I really feel bad for them, especially since I lived in Germany for two years. Maybe the next time around Germany can come back. But this was a great game.

There were a few German fouls that weren't punished, but on the whole the referee did a great job. He gave few well-deserved yellow cards to both teams, awarded free kicks and corners fairly enough and to both teams. He let the players be the real protagonists of the game, finally!

Yes, in my opinion, from the games that I've seen (which is a lot), that was the best refereed game of this World Cup.

Yes, i think this ref. was one of the best. he let the players play .it was one of the best reffing I've seen in the w/c!

He did a great job , however there were still many calls in favor of the host .
