The german parlement today is called the Bundestag, until the end of world war 2 it was called the Reichstag. The building the Bundestag meets in (with the round glass ball in the Atrium) is also called the Reichstag...The terms are sometimes used interchangably and to non germans always confusingly...to make matters worse until German Unification in 1870 the loose german confederation was called...u guessed it "The Bundestag"---Good Luck....

First answerer is sweet. For rationalization, the german parliament has 2 chambers, Bundestag and Bundesrat, basically like the parliament interior the united kingdom, the U. S. and so on.Bundestag is such as the homestead of Commons; Bundesrat is such as the homestead of Lords.
