I was supporting Portugal, although I thought France would win. I enjoy watching the Portuguese; they have some brilliant players and real potential. My heritage is English, but I found that Portugal rather than England inspired loyalty in me in that match. France, however, is one of the last teams I'd ever support. Another benefit of a Portuguese victory is that Italy would have a better chance to win, and better them than France.

Well the game is over but I was full on for Portugal. They are my favorite team and well my favorite player Cristiano Ronaldo is on the team. I think I am going for Portugal cause of my favorite player and they have never made it this far in world cup history so I guess I thought it would be cool for them to make it to the finals. I mean I watched the game and I must say it was a great upset to all Portugal fans and I must say I feel like I want to cry. But then again in my opinion and a bunch of the commentators also say that Portugal did play the better game. They made the opportunities but just weren't lucky and the ball just never went in. So, like I said Portugal definitely played the better game. Also not to make excuses but I think that the call the ref. made where it resulted in a 1 goal lead for France was a really stupid call. I mean Henry just fell. The Portugal's players leg was up in the result of him falling because of Henry. Also that ref. was the same ref. who did the American game and was suspended from the 2002 fifa world cup. If you ask me he shouldn't be reffing. So again I chose to go for Portugal and I hope that they beat Germany in the 3rd place game.

Portugal! Portugal! We have to give them a reason to not sing the melancholic Fado. France has enough self-esteem or arrogance as a country... Portugal came close in the EM 2004 and hosted a great tournament. The people in Portugal would benefit much more than the French with a World Cup title. The Portuguese people have big hearts and are very generous. I want them to enjoy success.

I like Portugal, every world cup I support them. I like how they play and because I have Portuguese ancestors. Also because I like to see world cup upsets, how sweet it would be if Portugal wins the world cup. France has two players Henry and Zindane while Portugal has more than two players who carry the team.
France is not going to give Portugal an easy time and vise visa although it would not surprise me if they win and we have an Italy/France match off. But I badly want an upset so Portugal all the way.
