Our sun is an average star, type G to be precise, and it will never explode. An exploding star is called a super nova, and a star must be much larger than our sun for this to happen.
What will happen is in several billion years the sun will use up the hydrogen in its core, and will start to collapse. This will cause the ignition of other elements, and the sun will expand into a red giant. It will be come so large earth will be swallowed up!
The last phase will occur when all the fuel is gone, the star will contract into what is called a white dwarf, and will gradually cool and become dark some time in the distant future.

I don't know the exact time but I remember it being something like a billion years from now. The Sun is constantly converting Hydrogen into Helium. Once this process is complete and there isn't any more hygrogen left, the Sun will expand into something called a Red Giant. It won't explode in a nova or supernova like many stars do because the Sun is much smaller than those stars. After the Sun becomes a Red Giant which will heat the Earth drastically and probably destroy any life that exists, it will shrink into a tiny dimly lit orb the size of a planet, known as a Pulsar.

There will be a mini explosion when the Sun turns into a red giant and burns all the inner planets but the Sun will not turn into a super nova since it is too small. That will happen in a few billion years. At the end of the stars life which is in 4-5 billion years the Sun will burn out and become a small dwarf star or white dwarf.

The sun is not expected to explode. It would have to have at least 1.5 times more mass for that to happen. Instead, in about 4.5-billion years the sun will go through a cycle of expansions and contractions as it tries to keep fusion going on in its core. Its final condition will be that of whats called a "white dwarf" star, an object with a diameter approximately that of Earth.

The sun is not going to explode into a nova or supernova. It's not big enough. However, it will blow up like a balloon, incinerating the inner planets, in 4-5 billion years as it goes through the death process.

The solar does not have adequate mass to grow to be a supernova because of the fact its mass is decrease than the Chandrasekhar mass (approximately a million.4 Suns) and it has no thank you to learn mass. while the solar is composed of the top of its existence (In approximately 5 billion years) this is going to slowly emerge right into a purple super. The dying solar will then throw off its outer layers, forming a nebula. the only merchandise last would be the fairly warm middle, which will slowly cool and then fade as a white dwarf over many billions of years. curiously, the incontrovertible fact that our photograph voltaic device incorporates heavy components exhibits that supernovae have got here approximately right here formerly. Our solar is probable the 0.33 megastar to exist in this cosmic neighbourhood, and our photograph voltaic device shaped from the debris left over from previous stars destroying themselves in outstanding way.

The sun will explode tomorrow. So you have less than 24 hours of sunlight left.

are you expecting the sun will explode....then everything will gone....by the way, sun is a star itself as one of the billions of stars in the universe....the sun will explode only after it has reached its old age....as of now, the sun is at its middle age. As soon as it becomes old, then it will slowly die then explodes which creates supernova and blackhole which absorbs the entire solar system..............thats what i have learned in my previous years of study....i hope it helps.....

About 2-4 billion years.
And it prob won't explode. It will most likely go red giant, then just collapse into a white dwarf.
