Howl's Moving Castle is an interesting one (the book is quite different from the movie). Harry Potter series also comes to mind of course, but what about classics like Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass or The Magic Faraway Tree series.

Gotta suggest "Bridge to Terabithia" by Katherine Paterson--Newbery award-winner about two kids who create a kingdom called Terabithia in the woods near their houses.
And maybe "Goblins in the Castle" by Bruce Coville--it's about an orphan boy who lives in a castle and explores its secret passages, until he accidentally lets loose some goblins and has to travel to the secret land of Nilbog to fix things.

The NeverEnding Story by Michael Ende & Ralph Manheim.
The book is so wonderful because it makes you dream and if your lucky, you will be able to visit Fantasia and be a part of the NeverEnding Story itself.

try The Joona Trilogy by Kim V. Engelmann. The first book is called "Journey to Joona".
Its about this "outcast" girl named Margaret who meets this beautiful, talking swan named Laurel, who lives in a magical paradise named Joona. He has come to earth to get human help in fighting the evil dark swan, Sebastian, who has blocked the passage between Earth and Joona. Margaret agrees to help and is soon caught up in battle to overcome the terrible dark magic of Sebastian and help the suffering swans find their way to the happiness of Joona.
