Depression in Europe. US had become "top dog". Cold War was beginning. Communism expands and gains power.Atomic Bomb in Japan. Social and medical changes in US. Control of US and other Allies over Axis territories. Homefront changes in US. Women and minorities gain power. Minorities like blacks and Hispanics move into northern cities to take over jobs white men left. The era of the Affluent Society begins. People have more money than ever to spend. Rise of Suburbia from soldiers and other people moving out of cities. Women are expected to give up jobs they and be the proper wife you see in 'Leave It To Beaver' "I Love Lucy'. US passes an amendment saying no president can serve more than 8 yrs. British empire becomes small. UN. Rise of Industry. Black people had jobs when whites came back they wanted them. Black people did not want to give it to them. Social tension. Civil Rights movement was a backlash of this.
