The best game in the tournament!!! Two great teams playing an exciting match. Italy won, and I'm happy because I was rooting for them, but I won't say that Germany played bad because they didn't. But Italy won fair and square, towards the end of the extra time. Great goals by Grosso and Del Piero. No way Lehmann, who is a good goalie, after all, could save them. No last-minute penalty kicks hahahahaha ;-) Much to the dismay of all the Italy haters out there, Italy finally proved that they could have beaten Australia too, had they gone overtime, and that they don't need to dive and cheat and whine to win a game. They didn't need to pay Fifa either because the referee didn't help them at all.

Italy did not play as well as they could have. Germany couldn't get passed Italy's defense although they did have several chances to score. It really could have been a better game for both teams. But Italy scored late in the game and the shell shocked Germans couldn't get back and Italy clinched it with another goal. If the game would have went into PKs Germany would have clinched it.

The game was very close and interesting. I miss the first half because of work also, but the second half it seemed like Germany was playing offensively while Italy play defensively. The game went to over time. Italy actually start to attack during overtime. They got three golden chances but they miss it. Germany also got a few. in minute 119, pirlo pass the ball to grosso and he put it nicely in the corner out of lehman reach. Germany try to fight back but del piero successfully trick lehman and put another goal at minute 121. Italia won the match YAY!

Italy and Germany both played a relatively uptempo game for the first 90 minutes.
The first extra time period was very slow-paced and sluggish.
During the second extra time period, Italy started pressing deep into Germany's defensive zone and made several runs into the box producing several scoring chances.
Following a corner kick that was corralled near the top of the box, and Italian player passed to another Italian player who had just the perfect opening. He hit a left-footed bender that was just out of the diving German keeper's reach and slid just inside the left post.
This was 14:20 into the second extra time period, so Germany began pressing. They sent nearly everybody to attack, and Italy turned the pitch. They had a two on one, and Lehman for the Germans pretty much gave up.
Del Piero easily found the back of the net (which I thought was a bit unsportsmanlike - given that the game was about to end anyways)

Probably the game of the Tournament. Lots of end to end stuff, very open and not spoiled by many fouls or Cards. Dramatic finish as well with late goals to Fabio Grosso and Alessandro Del Piero.
Italy did deserve to win. Outplayed Germany in first half and unlucky not to score twice (hit post then croosbar) in first 2 minutes of Extra Time.

I agree the play became uninteresting, yet a crew cant be in tip excellent structure each experience. I propose heavily, those are people right here, and they DID do properly contained in the perfect 20 minutes, inspite of if it became short. I propose, portugal became as both uninteresting, the experience known became. yet both communities contributed to the boringness. and also that is so fantastic if spain might want to win, i desire they do, because they'd make heritage!! (3 protecting titles in a row) no individual has ever finished that earlier soo i extremely desire spain can win it. i recognize your desicion notwithstanding, and am by no skill conserving you're incorrect.

you missed one of the most exciting game ever,the two teams were absolutely tip top,always there,i was dreading penalties
then ... Italy two goals : Fabio Grosso 118th minute and del Piero
120th minute.unbelievable , my dreams came true.for me this
was the final!
