I upgraded Yahoo Messenger to 7.5 and tried unsucessfully to avoid installing the yahoo tool bar. After I found it installed, I used Control panel Add/remove to delete the toolbar, but it still shows up randomly. I don't want it. It only shrinks my available browser window and provides no benefits for me.

in firefox go to tool-extensions and uninstall the yahoo toolbar.
in firefox everything is an extension and you cane asily uninstall and extension

Click start>settings>control panel>add remove programs , scroll down to 'yahoo toolbar' in the list (it will be near the bottom) click "remove"

Click on view or tools, select toolbars, uncheck the Yahoo toolbar.

You should be able to go to your control panel and un install it.
