I am not a huge Star Jones Reynolds fan for a few reasons
1.) she won't just come out and say she had gastric bypass
2.) that whole wedding promo she did was kind of tasteless
3.) her husband is gay and she refuses to see it
but putting all that aside, what Barbara Walters and the other producers did to her was wrong. If they did not want to renew her contract that was their decision and that is all apart of business; but to ask her to lie and say that she has found another job so that her fans won't know that they are booting her off of the show is a bunch of bullshyt. And then to add insult to injury, when she makes the announcement and tells exactly what happened instead of some cock-a-mamie made up story like they wanted her to, they get pissed and remov her from the show completely. I thought that one of the most important rules in journalism was to be honest and for Barbara Walters (the queen of journalism) to pull the stunt that she did she has lost all of my respect. I truly believe that the show will not last much longer with both Meredith and Star gone. Rosie O'Donnell is a comedian, not a journalist nor a lawyer. If the View were going to bring her on to replace anyone it should have been Joy. Very, very bad move.
And one more thing, for everyone who keeps saying that "she wasn't fired, her contract just wasn't renewed", let's see you help create a successful business and be apart of it for many years and all of a sudden your "contract doesn't get renewed" and see if you feel the same way. 9 months = contract not renewed; 9 years = FIRED!

I think there is probably a lot of things we don't know. I saw Barbara Walters announcement the next day that it was a total surprise Star came out with "I will not be returning in the fall..." It was pretty obvious Babs was hoppin mad. I caught Star's interview on Larry King and I agree, she did seem very sincere. She said she had no hard feelings toward anyone. She really does appear to be the better person here. I've watched The View a few times t/o the years. I think they all seemed pretty catty. I think we'll be hearing a whole lot more about this point of View, don't cha think?

Her contract become at an end and she or he had truly became right into a Bridezilla and become very brazen in hawking for freebies even as on the teach. besides to that, her negatives were increasing as a effect of that and she or he turned right into a custom damage waiting to take position, so the brass didn't wish her back. This become previous to her even understanding that Rosie become going to take over Meredith's chair. Rosie and her were on the outs because Rosie were calling her to job about mendacity about getting bariatric surgical operation.

I don' think it was anything personal, but a business desicion. Her popularity was plummeting with the viewers. Did you catch her interview on Larry King Live the other day? I don't think the show will last long without her and Meredith though. A lot of it seems to be a bunch of "he said, she said" stuff. ABC claims things that Star denies. She wasn't fired though. Her contract wasn't renewed.

First of all, after the weight loss, she looks like a caramel-colored skeleton. Secondly, there has always been infighting behind the scenes of The View. They are all catty and bitchy. If she left just because she was mad at Rosie for Rosie's comments about the weight loss, she should get over it. What other TV gig could she get? None, I dare say.

No, I think that she left them little recourse but to fire her immediately after she ran to the tabliods. She showed little class when she took her case to people magazine. The show had the right not to re-new her contract, just as they do anyone else on the show. I personally found her hard to take, when she was preparing to marry, she was shameless in promoting herself, and offering to promote anything or anyone that was willing to give her free stuff for her wedding. I felt that she used her positon on the show to get a million dollar wedding for free. I thought she lost her class and her dignity long before they fired her.

she wasn't removed...her contract wasnt' renewed. Two different things. And it's not that much of a mess.
She did some things that ABC didn't approve of, that's all. happens everyday in corporate america.

It reminds me of the title of a work of Shakespeare--Much Ado About Nothing. Sorry, I don't really care one way or the other.
