I am offering a product for about 50% of the price of the nearest competitor, and place a few ads. The only response I get is from a guy who does not read the ad at all and asks me 30 questions that were all answered in the ad.

Then After I answer them again he just stops emailing me. I ask him why the next week and he says because I have no real data and no warranty. I do have a warranty and gave him all the data he asked for. He also stated I had nothing physical to sell today. In the first paragraph of the ad, it stated this was for a deposit and once 30 orders were placed I would make the parts.

What do people want? I try to offer something for a decent price and people treat me like a criminal. WTF?

The product is Turbo Kits.

Average price is about 7500 up to 15,000 for this specific model.

I do understand that the nos far outweigh the yes's however this was the one reply I got in a large market.

Granted this was a small ad with limited coverage, honestly I expected to get a few leads.

I am pretty bad with rejection when I am doing this to offer something more for less money. I want to make this affordable to more people to make it a regular modification, instead of the cream of the crop.

Like this stupid Lambo door craze. These kits can be made for 75 bucks and people are selling them for thousands. Can they possibly think for one minute that four pieces of aluminum with hinges cost that much to make?

If this is going to be the treatment I get from the very people I am trying to do something for, I can see exactly why people raise their prices to the same level as other companies.

It sounds like you are asking people to have faith in you to produce a product. But if yo haven't produced a product yet, it will be hard to win their confidence.

And with all the scamming that is going on today, it makes good sense to be distrustful of a stranger.

I would suggest that you start your business selling to people who already have confidence in you. Or other reason to believe that their relationship with you is important enough that you will treat them fairly.

Once you get those first customers, they can be your spokespeople and spread your business by word of mouth.

People may feel that they are taking a risk because you do not have a track record. Also, they don't really know when their order will be filled, because it is dependent on 29 other people also placing an order. This would make me nervous. Are you accepting credit cards or do people have to pay you upfront? If the latter, they have no recourse if you fail to deliver on the product. If they pay by credit card, they can get a credit if the product was not delivered, but if they give you money, they might have to sue you to get their money back. I'm not saying you are dishonest, but people have to consider that you might be. The fact that your price is so much lower than everyone else's, but you are selling a product you do not actually have in inventory, may make it seem like you are running a scam. You may be better off trying to sell your product at a lower discount but having some units in stock that you can sell right away.

depending on the product you are selling, the fact that you don't yet have inventory, only the promise of future inventory, can make people uncertain, especially when dealing with people primarily over the internet, due the anonymity of internet based businesses.

if your product line is something that is ordinarily special order, or custom made to order pieces or parts, then it's harder to understand, except to say that perhaps not having an established brand can make it harder to compete against an established vendor in the field.

What's the product? I'll take 5!

I can't resisit a good deal...

Why don't you make 30 of them then try to sell them - you might have better luck.

Cheers!

People like to pay a lot for a product. It gives the confidence in themselves and what they buy. It makes them feel important to pay a lot, and boosts the ego to say they can afford it.

Remember, hun, it probably was not personal and this guy got obviously burned before.....In sales the rejections alway far outweigh the yeses, so if you are a poor rejection handler sales is not for you......
