Hi there, I am planning a trip to Brazil next year and I am wondering if someone can help me learn Portuguese? And possibly any suggestions in regards to the best time to go, places to stay, etc? Thanks so much!

I recommend some places - Porto Seguro, Jericoacoara, Fortaleza, Bonito and Fernando de Noronha (the last two are the most beautiful). There are a lot of hotels and places you can stay, and if you learn some basic portuguese lines (I can help you with that) you will be fine. Most of us speak some pourly english, at least in hotels.
December, January is summer and July here is winter. On the summer beaches are more crowded. Take your chances. Anything contact me - aquila_rpg@yahoo.com.br

Well, i tell you which route i took. Since i already knew Spanish it was just a shortcut to learn Portuguese, then i moved to Brasil, although i´m still in the learning stages, and since i´m pretty familiar with the Bible, i bought a Brazilian version and read a great portion of it, so that has also helped, then because i married a Brazilian it has helped me the most, so in my case, i have no excuse to learn.

As Owner of a Travel Agency, I can assist you with the travel portion of your inquiry(when to go, where to stay). Kindly call, email me at: indysteve1563@yahoo.com, or reach me at Yahoo Messenger with specifics, and I am certain that I can find a Brazil Package for you that meets your specific needs.

Unfortunately, I do not know the first word of Portuguese.

Don't know but remember that Brazilian Portuguese is different from the one spoken in Portugal.

The best time to go is From the end of August to before the beginning of Carnival. Also i suggest staying in ipanema. It is a beautiful area. You can shop, go to the beach, and have plenty of transportation to go sight seeing
