Keeping You A Secret by Julie Anne Peters is great, Am I Blue is good, Dancer In/From the Dark is good (I can't remember which it is) Annie on my Mind, Spring Fire gives you a bit of a 1950s viewpoint on lesbianism and homosexuality, and if you can slog through her big words Epistomology of the Closot is okay for a scholarly look at literary and real life gayness, but Queer Theories by David Hall is much easier to read.

"The Will of the Empress" by Tamora Pierce is a wonderful book for young adults (but anybody can read it) and one of the main people you follow finds out she is a lesbian. It's number eight though, so you might want to start with the first one called "Sandry's Book" in the Circle of Magic books. But you don't have too, you will understand what's going on just without the back story. It's a really good book.

Funniest, and one of the very best books I've ever read was
"Venus Envy" by Rita Mae Brown.
Main character is diagnosed with cancer. She writes special letters to each member of her family and very best friends telling them she is a lesbian and what she thinks of them, both good and bad. After the letters go out, she finds out she was misdiagnosed. It's a real "Oh sh*t!" moment for her. The book goes on about how she handles it all. VERY funny. Lesbian with family and a few gay friends as well, but not physically erotic at all. Manditory reading for men and women alike!

I know about transgender books more than anything else, and lesbian books. Here's some to read (i've read all of these) Stone Butch Blues by Leslie Feinberg
Becoming a Visible Man by Jamison Green
Just Add Hormones by Matt Kailey (female to male transgender)
Dykes to Watch Out For (comics)
Girlfriends (magazine)
The Mirror Makes no Sense (? author)
Is it a Choice? (? author)
Out in America-glbt encyclopedia
ugh...i know some more but can't remember the names of them..most of these books are informative/non fiction type..but Stone Butch Blues is fiction, but is more a "life story" type book..very cool book in my opinion.
