I strongly believe in working out the legs! The legs are where the push comes from for each and every pitch. Also, I have heard of putting rice or sand in a 5 gallon bucket and putting your pitching hand into it and working it around, making your wrist stronger and etc. Also, after each game we always ran, which is part of strengthening the legs.

im 13 and i can thorugh mid 80's by doing this.
first, in the off season, lift. work ur ur back and legs, and do push ups. working ur arms will give u fat muscles that will get in the way while pitching.
before the season u should build up ur arm strength. for the first few times, just get the feel of it again, and when ur sure ur ready, long toss. REALLY long toos, like 150 feet. but make sure they're straight throws and not rainbows.
then when u feel ready, start gettin the feel of the mound. dont throw hard, just go thru ur wind-up and emphasize these things;
1. close ur hips when u pick ur leg up, and when ur about to step, open them with a bit of a snap to it. (kevin brown is the best example for this. although u dont hav to be that emphasized, he is a good person to watch.)
2. make sure u use ur whole arm. most young pitchers only use some of their arm. this is called short-arming. and that will not only injure ur arm, but also take away speed. make sure ur arm is almost completley strainght at release point.
3. use ur whole body. to be a good pitcher, u must use ur whole body. that will enable u to pitch a complete game, because ur putting less strain on ur arm.
4. and most importantly, if u cant hit ur spots with ur fastball, its not ur machanics, keep them, get rid of the speed.
if u walk five straight batter, take a little off ur fastball so u can throw strikes. there is a difference between a pitcher and a thrower. people such as greg maddux, and pedro martinez are pitchers. they can throw the ball high 80's to mid 90's with pin-point acuracy. guys such as billy wagner, and eric gagne throw the bal as hard as they can, and it doesnt matter where it goes. they are closers because they dont pace themselves, they just go all out for an inning and then they're done.
i hope ive given some good advice, and good luck next season.

strengthen your legs... the pitchers real strength comes from the legs... also dont throw breaking balls... learn to control the fastball and spot it where you want and you can be a good pitcher...
