Electrons, they are always moving, bumping into each other and that (in a very small nutshell) is why there is Static Electricity exists.

Static electricity is generated whenever two materials touch and then separate. One material charges positively, and the other negatively. There you go

static electricity is the buildup of electrons on something. static electricity can neutralize itself by shedding those electrons onto something else (shocking someone).

Electrons are able to be scraped of materials. when enough of them build up you have an imbalance and they move back to an area that have more of a positive charge to balance. we have it for nature to make compounds. atoms combine in the electron shells...

Ummm, its fun to shock unsuspecting people by shuffling your feet along the ground. Also, it's really cool to rub a balloon on your head and stick it to the wall.
