Anyone who has ever been in DC for Independence Day would probably disagree with you.
Labor Day is the worst holiday because it marks the end of summer.

I don't care about it and I'm an American. In general, Americans think that we're better than the rest of the world all year long (which I think is wrong), so why do we need a special day to do so?
Also, the fireworks freak out my dog and I don't like that.

Little boys and their explosions. Probably Freudian. The meaning behind Independence Day is deep, honorable and historic, but the celebration in today's times, on an individual level, is that it's a day off and at nightfall you and your kids can enjoy watching the symbols of mass destruction, i.e., "the rockets' red glare, the bombs bursting in air . . ."t
