Get involved in comunity theater. Try to go to casting calls or "cattle calls", which are open auditions to the public. Don't try to go straight for Broadway. Start smaller, like off Broadway or regional tours and the like. You have to make connections in this business. It's less about talent, more about who you know. Get lessons in whatever you are weak in. If you can dance your *** off, but you can't sing. . .get a voice teacher. You have to be a well-rounded performer. Keep trying! You can do it!

Don't. If you need to be a star to be happy, then don't even bother to try. Did you know that of the people who consider themselves "actors", less than 1% is employed at any one time. Broadway is full of rejection, failure, and heartache, even for the most talented of people. Do it for the art. Not for the fame.
