It seems like no white person will admit to being proud of their race, they will say that all people should be proud and stuff and I guess if we said it we would be reported, but why can every other race have pride and white people cant? I am not responsible for what someone did to your ancestors or your country having ecomomic problems and war. I am proud of being white and I don't feel I have to apologize for it. Everyone else likes their own race as it is obvious when I am with a group of people that are black are hispanic they tend to leave me out and talk amoung themselves making me feel lilke a third wheel. I know they don't mean to do it but it is just natural that they enjoy the company of their own race because they have more in common in their experiences.

Blacks and Mexicans are incredibly racist and any white that associates with them is setting himself up for a fall.

You state "seems like no white person will admit to being proud of their race." --This statement of yours, which by the way I've seen often, so very likely you've just learned this from someone else, seems to indicate you don't get around very much, if at all. There are countless white ethnic pride groups. Since you seem to have access to the internet, try search engines for different European or Aryan-descended ethnic groups, such as Irish, Scottish, French, Scandinavian, German, and so forth. Even the English, if you really start learning about them, have their local shires and dialects, including Yorkshire, Lancashire, Anglian, and so forth.
Instead of whining about whites not standing up for their selves, or being proud, why don't you do some real research into your own ancestry? Warning: there is a large percentage of whites who have at least one Black ancestor or Native American ancestor, so be prepared for a surprise.

and "I am not responsible for what someone did to your ancestors or your country having ecomomic problems and war." Check yourself, before you wreck yourself. Countless of us whites have benefited from institutions of education, government, industry, which have come down through the generations having benefited from the profits of slave ownership, exploitation of ethnic sweatshop or field labor, the forced taking of land, swindling, lying, and other fraud. If you begin to really read carefully, listen and think, you'll start to see how you or I very well may NOT OWE directly, no but if you come across an accident that is not of your doing, and you do nothing to help, then you have become part of the problem. You are responsible for your own education. So if you fail to use the reasoning faculties you have, and you fail upon learning of past injustices to SEEK REDRESS for those injustices, then you too are part of the oppressive systems.
The choice is up to you. Help, and join the human race, or shun your neighbour, and continue the racial divide that so much pains this planet and all human life on it.

I was born in the USA, I have Mexican parents, on my mother side 1/4 German 1/4 French and half Spaniard, my father side is all Spaniard. So what am I? I don't know and i don't care. I don't think you have to be telling everyone you're white, its better to mention is asked that you are from German or Irish decent or whatever ancestry. Just saying you're white sounds kinda vague and stupid actually its much more interesting telling everyone from exactly where, No one will hate if they do then they are racist. As for the third wheel I totally agree, i don't like it when it happens amongst my "white" friends and the majority are speaking Spanish. this leaves whitey LOL outta the loop. It sucks and its not right. It happens to me with my Iranian friends. they speak Persian for several minutes and i just sit there like a dummy. Thing is i told them in a nice way that they hurt my feeling being left out and since i don't understand Farsi i feel like I'm all alone at the table with 5 people that i work with, why bother inviting me. they quickly stopped and never did it again. ah Guilt my favorite weapon. Trying learning more about your culture and the culture of your friends, expand your horizons and you will find that your friends are very impressed with you and not think you'll all into your white self. All races and cultures have something special and wonderful to offer.

I agree 100% with what you said.

I think it's because this country is still young (the US, I mean). I think it has a lot to do with being called a racist if one says anything positive about the white race.

There's a book that just came out that discusses the "black anger" and "white guilt". I've called it white guilt for some time. I refuse to maintain an apologetic or empathetic air when I"m around others of another race because they're in charge of their own lives...not history. And for that, I sometimes am called a racist.

You can be proud of your race, but don't expect minorities to rejoice with you. It is a fact that as a white person, you don't know what it's like NOT to be considered the norm. Turn on the tv, open a magazine and what do you see? White faces. When I a kid, my mom took me to Toys R Us to buy a 3' Barbie. When they got there, they told me that they only sold the black Barbies at Christmas time, and I was forced to get the white one. I'm sure you've never had to settle for a doll that was a different race. Most times, I have to buy my makeup at a department store, because 8/10 times, drug stores don't carry foundation shades remotely close to my skin. Hell, Revlon, Almay, Max Factor and Rimmell don't even make foundation in my shade (and I'm about Gabrielle Union or Naomi Campbell's complextion)....it's because I'm not the norm.

Minority groups need to express pride in themselves because Lord knows, the media sure doesn't. If we don't show pride and teach our kids to love themselves (race and all), they will never learn (and they will never have any self esteem), but all white people have to do is open a magazine or turn on the tv to learn that someone desires them.

The fact that you are proclaiming your pride in being white is alarming in of itself. There is italian pride, greek pride, hispanic pride and a laundry list of others but I am not familar with the celebration of being WHITE. I guess becuase "white" is not more a race than "black. African american people often talk of black pride and being proud of being black becuase of our own ingorance. We have been taught for hundreds of years that we are a people with no heritage. We are simply black. Many of us rather than learn the truth of our origin has embraced this lie and used it as a source strength instead of weakness. The invention of things such as Black Entertainment Television, BlacK History Month, AL Dia Newspaper (hispanic) are a reflection of a society that continues to cut minorities out of mainstream America. There is no White Entertainment Television becuase white people are (in all there various forms) reflected on NBC, ABC, FOX, and CBS. Minorities have just begun to have some significant representation. So you have a right to be proud of your heritage just as everyone else but understand that although the plantations no longer in existance there still is a significant amount of unspoken racism that exist in mainstream culture in this county.

I feel exactly the same way. I think it's from fear that we will be called racist. When I was in high school we had alot of hispanics and polynesians wearing t-shirts that said "Brown Pride". But we all knew that if any white kid walked into school wearing a shirt that said "white pride" we would get our asses kicked. And when ever a colored person gets in trouble they usually say "it's cause I'm black, that's why you think I did it". I'm proud to be white and wish we didn't have to pay for what our ancestors did, but truth be told alot of other races did the same exact thing

Everyone should be proud of their race. The reason people get reported isn't because of being proud its because they have to put down other people to make themselves feel proud. Being racist and being proud are two different things. So to wrap things up be white and proud. That's your right. As long as your being proud isn't putting anyone else down, I dont see what the problem is.

i imagine there is a great number of extra significant inquiries to be stressful about, yet besides, if someone is afraid to assert what they somewhat imagine, it probable potential they comprehend their ideas are incorrect and dirty or they are too at probability of arise for themselves. traditionally, whites have not used a lot restraint in coping with different races. i imagine that a great number of whites on the instantaneous look at our historic previous and be conscious how extraordinarily we've behaved as a race and are pleased with some particular remedy. That pronounced, regrettably, what we've is a incorrect equipment the position some blacks and hispanics who in many circumstances come from privileged backgrounds are promoted extreme in company and are allowed to preserve those positions for the sake of a quota inspite of unfavorable job performance. be conscious that there are extra minorities who do their jobs o.k., i'm in person-friendly words keeping in some circumstances someone receives away with issues a white man or woman does no longer get away with in an expert position. in the meantime, no longer something is being finished for the thousands of thousands of unfavorable black and hispanic human beings in ghettos. a minimum of no longer something that's operating, besides. So yet another answer on your question will be guilt. the project in company will be a project with man or woman agencies and would not require authorities involvement in any respect. the project with fixing such issues as welfare, which has a lot of complications, is that some human beings attempt to do issues which will eliminate welfare or make it flow bankrupt as a way to eliminate it, contained in the call of reforming it and making it better. that is truly the technique the Bush administration has been utilizing with the total federal authorities. Karl Rove concept the federal authorities spends too a lot taxpayer money, so that they spend even extra in hopes of eliminating it and promoting off the bureacracy to non-public company. Oh, sorry I were given so off topic. besides, i'm no longer certain whites are afraid usually to assert what they imagine. possibly we merely be conscious: i do not do IM and do not share my digital mail yet I do verify back and in case you position any exciting updates on your question, i visit reply right here. i do not hate each and absolutely everyone. That is just fairy stories about cultures with better family ties. I am mixed race - white mother black father. My father abandoned me and my mother and I know lots of others this happened to and all of them were left by a black father. Black men are taught by their ignorant culture to make women pregnant and walk out. I know lots of different race people. I do not know anybody who was abandoned by a white father or any other race. Even if they split up they did not abandon them. My step father is white and always treated me like a dad should and supports my mother.
