I've been doing lunge squats, strengthening my back, doing situps with a 45 pound weight on my chest, and losing weight. I can't dunk yet, however, I'm grabbing the rim. I aim to continue to improve my vertical jump. I'm really trying once I'm able to dunk not stop from there. I'm trying to be able to dunk two handed elbow high to the rim and I'm only 5'9, anybody think this is possible?

Sure you can. I don't know about elbow high. But Im 5.9 and I could dunk pretty easily, but nothing fancy. You do realize jumping is more about rhythm than it is strength. That is why they say white men cant jump (lack of rhythm .... lol. jk).

But beware. Im 30 now. If you don't use it you lose. I graduated highschool and when I came back after freshman year I hadn't played ball in months and I had no hops. .... none.

I'm only five eight, and I can only grab the rim.

I'm trying hard as hell myself to just be able to dunk. I don't need to do anything fancy. It also would help if I could palm the ball.

I honestly doubt that I will dunk. I'm not going as hard as you are. Infact, I am barely doing anything to help my vertical.

Probably not elbow high but if you work hard enough I bet you could dunk one handed, maybe even two. But its gonna take a LOOOOOT of hard work. Because I am 5 10 and I have a pretty good verical jump and its hard for me to dunk two handed.

yeah it is very likely you could do that. except, you have to work more on your legs than on your chest. also, losing weight won't help considering your also losing energy. i'm 5'9 and a half and i could do just about any dunk a 6'6" guy can do, and i'm only 15 years old. i used air alert II for about a year and a half and it helps every muscle needed to help u jump an inch higher after about every 4 days. if you want the sets and reps for air alert e-mail me. trueballer225@sbcglobal.net

Well, Spud Webb won an NBA dunk contest and he was 5'7. Anything's possible but....okay no, you won't be able to do that I'm sorry.

No, probably not. Simple physics. It's very, very hard for a 5'9" guy to ever dunk, especially powerfully.
