Maxi Rodriguez's game-winning goal in extra time against Mexico in the round of 16. Receiving an airball on the right side of the top of the box from the left side a few yards past the halfline while facing away from goal, he chested it down, and while turning towards goal fired a left-footed volley that found the top corner just inside the fair post. Some of my other favorites are Philipp Lahm's right-footed drive from just outside the top left corner of the box in the opener against Costa Rica, which was no more than four inches below the crossbar and went in off the far right post, an almost perfect shot placement-wise, Torres' goal against Ukraine, which was a good shot after a wonderful biuld-up, Ronaldo's goal against Ghana, in which he broke Muller's record in beautiful fashion, faking the keeper on a breakaway and passing the abll into the goal, and Grosso's goal against Germany today, where after a nice biuld-up off a corner kick, they found him open, and he placed the ball perfectly inside the far-post, just beyond Lehman's reach. I was rooting for Germany, and that goal hurt, but it was still beautiful.

2. David Beckham vs. Ecuador (made all the more beautiful by the fact that he was sick as a dog at the time)

Grosso's goal last night was wonderful too, it was unexpected and not easy to do. The German defence was all over the place, but yet he managed to score, with a bend almost like Beckham's, but not the same because only Beckham can bend it like Beckham. LOL ...

It had to be today when Italy scored that first goal against Germany. It was a piece of art in action. I could never get bored watching it over and over again. Absolutley magnificent!!!

I love all of Maxi's goals but the one against Mexico made me scream like a nut! I also think Grosso's goal today was nice!

definitely grosso's today just because it was so emotional for me because i knew that Italy would have lost against Germany if they had gone into penalties! i had almost given up hope when the new love of my life scored that miraculous goal! it was freakin awsome!!!!
