I know that it is typical for girls to have sweet 16 bithday parties, but what about males? Would it be strange or would it be acknowleged as good by the people invited?

yes if you are sweet...otherwise I would have a "sex"teen party and invite both boys and girls (both sexes) not having sex (dirty mind.) Make it fun like games where the boys compete against the girls, basically a battle of the sexes......scooter races.....skateboard musical chairs (use skateboards to sit on instead of chairs, taco eating contest, or weinie eating contest (you'd be suprised what girls can pack away at that age), water balloon fight, egg toss, tug of war, etc.....

whatever sex wins the most contests is the overall winner....Make some stupid trophy out of an old toy or lawn ornament something to present to the group. Then have fun socializing and listening to music, dancing whatever you have available for the party. Make it a themed party too. Mexican or Tropical, beach wear required....etc...

I thought teenage boys don't like to be called "sweet"! My son turns 16 next month, and he'd hate the idea! You can have a party, by all means! Have a pizza party, or go bowling, or have a sleepover, or whatever you like best!

Sure you can have a 16th birthday party. But if you prefer the company of young women ahead of young men, you might best not refer to it as a "Sweet 16" party.

Yeah, just don't call it sweet 16. Just have a regular 16th birthday party, my kids just went to one for a guy.

maybe don't call it a "sweet" sixteen. Call it a "super" sixteen, or something a touch less feminine. But by all means have yourself a big birthday bash!!
