I know I don't, and I'm not talking about simple foul language, I'm talking about pedophiles and gangsters. I put this in Philosophy because I don't know where else to stick it. I know, ha-ha. Let's try some serious answers, that's what I'm looking for. Thanks.

if it disgusts me ( and i have a fairly decent sense of humor, not a total prude) i report it. no one knows who did it. i can't figure out how so many people respond before questions get taken off though. are there that many idiots on this??

The only thing I would report someone for, and I have posted about it as well so don't feel bad, is flagrant abuse of the system. For instance I had someone posting answers that were completely unrelated to the subject of the question. Not once but like fifteen times. If I ran into a pedophile on here I would instead of reporting him/her to Yahoo, who isn't a real authority, report him/her to the authorities and give them access to my account. It's totally a judgment call.

I reported someone once for saying outright I should suck my boyfriends penis, or something. It interrupted the flow of whatever semi-substantive answers were there.. and I didn't want it there haha. Maybe I was wrong retrospectively...

I think I wanted them to get a violation, lose 2 points and "learn" from it. Because it was really obnoxious and I've got enough self-published bad press.

Someone shouldn't feel guilt or be concerned about the anger of an individual who has wronged others. They don't like the results of their choice of actions then they shouldn't harm others. They have a choice and have chosen to do something wrong and shouldn't be upset for getting caught.

It would bother me more if I didn't do anything. I reported someone who wanted to know where a very young girl lived. She was asking a question about babysitting. He said he would come over and help her. I thought that was dangerous.

I don't care at all if someone dislikes or hates me if I report them for posting such things as child molestion and being a pediphile. That tpe of garbage doesn't belong anywhere on th net.

I report it and hope somethings is done. It's a shame people cannot use Yahoo Answers in a mature manner.

If I feel something is inappropriate and a danger to the younger viewers, yes I report it without a thought.

no i don't care, the people who would be angry....are the ones who need reported,
i would much rather know, that somewhere,..... some elses child is safe...

as i would hope...you would do the same for mine..

my precious daughter also enjoys this forum, and although i supervise...i can't always be right behind her...

it's nice to know, someone else cares for her safety.

When you report someone, no one knows. That is yahoos policy. They don't tell the abuser who the reporter is.

When I was a kid, we called them tattle-tales and snitch-cats, and we didn't think much of people who ratted on others. I must say that I still can't understand people who feel they must report others. As if they were perfect. They seem to be people who have never grown up, who probably snitched on their classmates when children, and are still doing it, and thinking themselves some of kind of hero for never growing up.
