You can use a Playstation One memory card on a Playstation 2 ONLY for saving Playstation One data. So if you try to save a PS2 Game's data on a PS1 Memory Card, it won't work. Vice versa ...

Yes you can, but you can only save Playstation 1 games. But you can't save Playstation 2 game files on the PS1 memory card.
