wow! thats a tough one
i think rob halford is hands down the most powerfull voice in metal
ive seen both bands maiden in 1980 1986 1988 and2002
priest in 1980 1983 1985 1988
as far as shows, mucianship, stage prescence i can't choose its apples and oranges, both great both kick ***
the edge goes to priest for me, better catalouge of songs and the voice of halford always cut through effortlessly
dickinson was awesome he just always was on the edge of his range seemed like such an effort, halford sounded like he could go all night everytime

Okay, laying the history aside, in this present moment, i have to say Iron Maiden.
Why? Just because they're been on the scene for so long and they can still whip up a fantastic live show. Did you ever see JP live, now that Halford is back? He just stands there and sings, or sometimes even sits down, or kneels, or lies down. He doesn't move around at all. He lies there, eyes CLOSED, and sweats in that ridiculous clothes, and sings. Not very well either.
I was totally put off by the JP live performance.
While Maiden have SOOOO much energy on the stage!! Also, their last two CDs were much better musically than what JP are doing.
Definitely Maiden. Up the Irons!!

Judas Priest, because they can still perform as great as always, Although I loved Maiden in their day they couldn't hold on to what they had and Bruce just should never have done anything by himself.

Iron Maiden, plaintiff in case, sought injunction against defendant Judas Priest. Plaintiff claimed defendant was illegally cornering supplies of WD40. Case was dismissed without prejudice.

I've seen them both in concert and rocked out to them for many years and I truly love them both, but I would have to pick Iron Maiden for run to the hills
