Apparently most of Congress - seems to be all about money and getting votes no matter what. The American people as a whole stand up for what is right - and we DO act on it.

I feel they don't care to stand up at all. They're apathetic. It's not a question of courage or morals or honor. It's more of a point of what's better for them, that will be the point where they'll stand up.

I don't think courage is the issue. I think many Americans are blind. I also think they don't realize how the US is setting up to be Big Brother. Every aspect of American's lives are being set up to be controlled by the government and no one says a word of protest. They don't even see it.

I'm an American and actually 70% of Americans don't have the guts to stand up for what they believe in. Unfortunately for the rest of the world, I am not one of the 70%.

It's not that we don't have the courage, its all about the red tape and legal issues the follow standing up for oneself and country. When I stepped in to help a woman getting beat (I mean BEAT) by her husband she later tried to blame the whole incident on me. If it wasn't for her hubby noticing that he really needed help i would've went to jail for trying to do whats right! (from your friendly neighborhood combat veteran)

It would seem there is a notion that Americans only do things for money. This is neither courageous or honourable.

What you talking about? I think Americans are very vocal people who stand up and speak up for themselves.

It seems like a lot more people just react in a harsh way than actually "standing up" for themselves

What in God's name are you talking about? What other country on Earth stands up as much as America?
