Spiderman is bonded with the Venom symbiote. It's an alien symbiote that binds to Peter Parker and enhances his powers and has a psychotic effect. Check out www.marvelcomics.com.

The black costume is spideys symbiote costume which is really an alien that takes control of whatever it touches. In the comics spidey defeats the alien and it flees into this scientist guys body and he becomes venom so venom might be in the movie

In the comic book, he gets it from traveling outer space.. it's some huge crossover in the late 70's or early 80's.. maybe "Beyonder"? I forget.. but it's this wierd goop that attatches to his suit and gives him new powers... but eventually he has to fight it off and it becomes "Venom," which is one of spiderman's biggest nemeses.

Wow, you have never read the comic books have you?

It definently has to do with the storyline... at one point in the Marvel Universe, Spidey wears a black suit, but in a nutshell, the suit passes onto another guy who becomes VENOM.

The suit is a symbiote, which makes Spidey stronger. It also starts to take him over. Spidey ditches the suit, which becomes an independant entity which refers to itself as Venom. Venom is a bad guy.

Because its venom, if you read the comics and watch the show you know what venom is. its a alien thing that can combine with your body in this case spiderman and it makes him stronger and all that but soon he wont have any control over it, so he has to get it off.

a symbiote(an alien like thing) basically took over his body, which changed his costume. Symbiotes need to take over organisms to survive.
