I live in England and have gone all around the country and have never encountered any sort of anti-American feelings, etc. I don't understand the whole anti-American thing...Not EVERYONE voted for George Bush. Not EVERYONE supports the war. Not EVERYONE is a backwood Jerry Springer person...For that matter...What about people on Jeremy Kyle in this country?
A lot of people are just as blinded by the media in their own country just like a lot of Americans are blinded by the media in the States.
If people are SO anti-American I highly consider you stop using a lot of the stuff you might use on a daily basis:
Yahoo! Services - It's American. You better stop using it.
eBay - It's American. You better stop using it.
Wikipedia - It's American. You better stop using it.
Google Services- It's American! Fuhgettaboudit!
Microsoft - American. Stop using anything with Microsoft in it.
AOL - Part of Time-Warner! Dom-Dom-Dom...Stop using it.
If you're feeling really, really, really anti-American...well the best step to make a stand would be to stop using the internet all together! Created by the DARPA!
Yikes!
Just try to get along, maybe if people did that they'd be more of a force to deal with and maybe change could happen instead of always being divided because of what stupid governments do.

People do say nice things. Anyone who doesn't needs to talk about a specific American (such as George Bush) rather than Americans, as it is politically incorrect.
They do not know every single American, so how can they be the judge of them if they do not know them?!
I cannot say anything at all about Americans as I do not know all of them.
However, I will say that the Americans I have had the pleasure of meeting have been lovely, welcoming and I could not fault them. Although, I am sure they have faults-like everyone else on this planet!
People who say "Americans are this..." etc are naive and very narrow minded. They do not know every American so are talking out of their ****!
Personally, from what I've actually seen of the country it is lovely. Also, the Americans I met here (in the UK) and in America have all been lovely.
People need to remember media images are not always true, and not to judge a whole population on a few people they have met!

I say nice things about Americans all the time. Heck my entire family is American, most of my friends too.
We can bicker amongst ourselves, go to church (or not) as we choose, elect a different face to perform the same corrupt crap as the last guy, change our minds, spend our money when and how we choose, protest on the courthouse steps, be host to world leaders, put on the Macy's Thanksgiving parade, the list goes on and on.
Peace. From one American to the world.

There are Americans that make me proud to be an American. Then there are the others (The Bush Administration and all other ignorant people). I think the best thing I can say about most Americans is that they are accepting of other people and their faults. We forgive fairly easily because of our short attention spans. LOL

Americans have proven themselves to be a wonderful and compassionate people, especially on an individual level. It's when everyone gets wrapped in the flag that the American people seem to lose sight of things. Americans have a great history that they should be proud of, but you can reat on your laurels. It is today that will define America, not your past accomplishments.

Something nice about Americans? Sure- lots of them are nice, caring decent people as individuals. America as a whole? Nope. Too many conservative wackos running the show. Mr. Bush?

Many think it is stylish to bash Americans and talk ill of Geo.Bush. It is just not right.
I am not an American but I live in this N.Am continent. I have nothing but admiration and respect for the Americans because many things are here today because of their innovation and creativity. They have given so much to humanity, science, literature and business. They excel in many sports. One cannot argue with success. If you make it here, you can make it anywhere.
It is mostly jealousy that makes people from other continents to call them arrogant, stupid and other undeserving names. I am saddened by such remarks because one cannot generalize. But America is a bigger target so it is easy to shoot for.
They have the ability to laugh at themselves. That is their strength because they are not insecure. This is a great quality.

Hey, you're great. Nearly all Americans I've met have been really great people, so I don't have a problem with Americans, just what's happening to your country and therefore the rest of the world. As long as enough of you realise this, what's the problem?
Also, your accents are damn sexy

I know it's wrong to generalize people because everyone is different but this is a trend I have noticed especially among African Americans. They are very arrogant and act like they are better than other people.
