Jim Brown is easily the best player in football history (he's also the best lacrosse player ever as well, but that's another story).

He was named by The Sporting News as the greatest player ever in 1999 and again in 2002.

In all but two of his nine seasons, Brown rushed for more than 1,000 yards, and set the standard for durability by never missing a game. In 1963, Brown carried for an unheard of 6.4 yards per carry, over 291 carries.

Brown's first four seasons were only 12 games long, and his last five consisted of 14 games, so in those days 1,000 yards actually meant something...

Brown is the only rusher in NFL history to average over 100 yards per game for a career.

He still holds the career record for yards per carry, at 5.2. Nobody's touchin' that one...

He remains the only athlete ever inducted as a player into more than two Halls of Fame.

All you need to do is see highlight films of one of his runs... he was by far the best ever...

Bronko Nagurski. Of course, almost nobody reading YA has even heard of him, so he won't get many mentions.

He played quarterback, tight end, full back, tackle, and linebacker.

Nagurski ran and blocked like Earl Cambell, passed like Terry Bradshaw, caught passes like Jerry Rice, and tackled like Dick Butkus.

He played offense and defense, often playing every down of a game.

He is easily THE greatest all around player to ever touch a football.

I used to like watching Roger Starbuck, Tittle, Payton, Mean Joe,Bo Jackson, OJ, Keyshaun Johnson, and Namath. I can't pick just one because football is always producing excellent football players in different time periods.

It depends. If I was going to build a team around one player in his prime it would be Bo Jackson. If you want to know my opinion on who had the best career it is Otto Graham followed by Jim Brown and I am saying that as a Bengals Fan.

Probably the old timer, Jim Thorpe. He did it all as a passer, runner, kick returner, kicker and punter! Granted it was in an era where an exceptional athlete could be hailed as practically immortal, but many of his records stood until after his death, so I'd say he was the schiz-nit!
