There's beautiful state parks in the area, civil war battle sites (and if you time it right reenactments), a children's museum as well as other museum's, the Tennessee Aquarium, IMax theater, Incline Railway, Lookout Mountain, Riverfest Music concerts in June, and alot more. Plus if you stay at either a camp ground or in an extended stay motel with a kitchenette you can save a lot of money. If you go there dont' be afraid to get away from the tourist spots and check out the city, its all beautiful.

I don't know where you're from but... Nova Scotia, Canada is a GREAT province/place to visit.. so is Newfoundland.... they are both on the east coast of Canada.... they are beautiful places both... extremely friendly people... great sites to see... and affordable. You can travel up through the eastern states to Maine and then take a ferry to the South-western part of Nova Scotia... you can also drive into New Brunswick and then it's a few hours drive into Nova Scotia from there... and PEI is close as well.
All of the Canadian Atlantic Provinces are worth seeing... although New Brunswick is my least favourite... but definately, NS and NF are great!

I have seen commercials for Disney Packages for families of four. You can't go wrong with Mikey Mouse and Princess, unless you've been there many times b/4.
Myrtle Beach and Virginia Beach are also nice places, stay in a nice hotel though.
