Corzine and his Democratic colleagues in the state Assembly can't agree on the budget, they are both to blame for the shutdown. The Republicans are more than happy to watch them crash and burn. The state budget is a mess and drastic measures are required to begin to fix it. Both parties have held power and both are responsible for creating this problem.

I don't have a real problem with the Governor shutting things down because he has no choice. The emergency powers act comes into play and is very clear on what has to be done. I blame the legislature because they did not have a single budget bill ready to send to the Governor's desk.

I can't stand the guy! shutting down the government TO RAISE TAXES! unbelievable! In my opinion people should be marching the streets in protest! He wants to raise the sales tax to 7 cents (up 17%) The state already has over a billion dollars in tax revenue, make do or spend less! and some people say that's he's being fiscally responsible! CUT SPENDING DON"T RAISE TAXES!

Just my opinion

HE IS LOOSING A LOT OF MONEY AS FAR AS THE STATE IS CONCERNED BUT , HE HAS TO START SOME WARE TO MAKE MONEY FOR THE STATE AND THATS WHY HE WANTS TO RAISE THE SALES TAX 1%. ALL THE BIG TIME POLITICIANS IN TRENTON THAT WERE ON A HAY RIDE FOR A GOOD MANY YEARS NOW HAVE TO GET OFF THE WAGON AND START REPRESENTING THE PEOPLE THAT TRUSTED THEM AND PUT THEM IN OFFICE , OTHERWISE THEY WILL BE LOOKING FOR A NEW JOB.
