if she has always been a slob, before she was a mum, then the only way to react when she is throwing a tantrum is to walk away. you can't talk to her as an adult if she is behaving like a child. maybe you can send her to her room and tell her to clean it. :) she has to learn to clean up after herself especially with a child. maybe it was always done for her.

I guess you can partly blame the parents for the way she has been brought up, but at 22, there is no real excuse for being a slob, and laziness. I don't think there is much you can do, but tell her. Maybe she needs some soft of motivation??? A leopard won't change its spots....

Is this your girlfriend? Find a new one. Being broke doesn't make you into a slob. Sounds like she has some growing up to do, and she'll be teaching her child to behave the same way.
