"A man charged with killing his wife and mother-in-law has been sentenced to serve two consecutive life sentences and face deportation should he ever be released from a Georgia prison.
Rockdale County Chief Superior Court Judge Sidney Nation accepted the guilty plea of Jean Jocelyn Merilien and sentenced him to the life sentences on two counts of malice murder followed by five years for possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime.
District Attorney Richard Read was seeking the death penalty against Merilien for the October 2004 shooting of Myrna Belcham Merilien, 33, and Marie Jean Belcham, 57."
