because they are generally better looking then the darker females.

My mother is a light skinned Black woman and does not think she is white. What an ignorant question. I think that you should not make generalizations about people and find something better to do with your time than asking stupid questions on Yahoo! Answers. Thanks for the two points though.

You can't make an uneducated generalization like that first off. Secondly, I, a fair skinned black woman do NOT think I am white. Third, those that DO believe so have self esteem issues that stem from generations of racism.

Do they? Or are they merely accused of it by petty, resentful, darker-skinned people? This sounds like a variation on the situation when a Black schoolkid is serious about his studies, excels, and has ambitions for success-- such are accused of "acting white" as if all white people are scholarly! It's called "The Crab Syndrome" : a pot full of crabs being boiled, some try to climb out, and the ones on the bottom pull them down and don't let them escape. I wish Black people woould stop being their own worst enemies this way.

Well they're not black, because if they were they would be the colour of this font. Some people say they are light brown, or tanned, but I haven't heard any of them say white. Beyonce is light brown and she never says white, I don't who told you but majourity of them don't.
Hope this answers you're question!

Hey lets keep in mind that everyone has an opinion and its not fair to attack because of it.
I havent met any lightskinned black women who think they are white.(its not cool to be something other than what you are and you should be proud).
One thing that I must address that I have experience lightskinned women who thin they are better in both the black race and hispanic race.
In my opinion beauty is in the eyes of thee beholder...

What does it matter. People have a right to feel happy about being white or black or whatever. If you check out your family roots, you might get a big, big surprise. Let them be happy about their color or colors.

What shade makes someone white, what shade makes someone black. Maybe everybody should just say we are all tan, various shades and be done with the silliness once and for all.
