There are two basic methods to play professional baseball in the US:

1. Be a player in high school or college and play well enough for scouts to notice you. Then you can try to enter the baseball rookie draft.

2. Open tryouts. Most professional teams will have open tryouts at some point during the year. Impress the staff and you get a shot.

In both cases you'd end up in the minor leagues where you'll play competitive games and have a chance to prove yourself further. If you're good enough and there's an opening in the roster on a major league team you'd have a chance to get promoted to the MLB. Of course, once you're in, that doesn't mean you get to stay in. Most of the time, the promotion is temporary to fill in a spot due to an injured player.

You don't mention your age but if you are a student sign up for the baseball team at your school. Also join any baseball teams you can find. If you are really good you could get a scholarship to college and there professionals will see you play. The only other thing I can think of is to talk with baseball coaches and see what advice they can give you.

It is very difficult to reach the professional level in any sport. baseball is a tough sport because you must be able to run fast, catch a ball, throw one, and hit one-- especially a curve ball dropping down and away. Running is a question of explosive sprints on defense and on the base path. Throwing breaks down to hard, accurate throws the bases from anywhere on the field, as as a pitcher, having a 95 mph fast ball, a curve ball, and at least two other pitches to keep the batters guessing. To have all these skills (running, throwing, hitting, and catching) developed to a great enough skill level is very hard. It takes a great deal of innate talent, and discipline, to practice the fundamentals over and over when your friends are off having a good time. Practice, practice, practice, practice agaisnt the best competition you can find and keep stepping things up each time you master the competition.
