Not the creatures of lore no. But there were "vampire childen" a long time ago. There was and still is a disorder known as erythropoietic protoporphyria. Typically it was caused by inbreeding during the middle ages, and the victims were children because they never lived long. When exposed to sunlight their skin cracked and bled and the doctors, not knowing what else to do, gave them blood to drink thinking it would replace what they lost. They also had harelips and red eyes and teeth. This disease has no doubt spurred much of the vampire myth. I don't know if the disorder is so different today or if there are different types or what. But I hear it's still around more or less. You just don't hear about it often.
But, the vampire myth was around long long before Bram Stoker wroter Dracula, which was indeed based on Vlad the Impaler. Or Vlad Dracula son of Vlad Dracul. "Dracula" shaped the modern vampire myth into what it is.
Originally, vampires were no more than the animated corpses of evil men that drank the blood of villagers at night. But it varied country to country. And there are a lot of strange stories, many from Eatern Europe, but you can find vampire stories from any country in the world, because blood is universally considered to have magical properties, so it's natural that so many tales of blood sucking monsters would pop up.
Is that detailed enough?

There have consistently been people who believed in vampires...way formerly Twilight got here out yet its merely all the obsessed young human beings which take it too far. you will be able to desire to assert an identical factor approximately God. you will be able to desire to assert 'why do human beings have confidence in God while there is not any info?' human beings is traumatic of the unknown so that they decline to have confidence in something it fairly is unworldly or supernatural. human beings lack the skill to attain that something is plausible. Its the ame with the loch ness monster...merely becaus no person has seen it,it does not mean it does not exist. it would desire to be a pleseosaur from hundreds of thousands of years in the past that have been given caught interior the loch seeing because it the loch was once linked to the sea. not each little thing is as what it would desire to look. not each little thing is black & white, you have have been given to learn how to open you're eyes to the secrets and techniques & mysteries which we've not yet uncovered.

I have met some nuts who believe they are vampires weirwolves etc. through working mental health emergencies. They can be dangerous because they will try to bite you. The one "weirwolf" was the only one that I thought might have some credibility. His hair actually seemed to grow on his face during the interview.
Who knows what is out there.

No, by definition vampires cannot exist. The light from the moon would kill them. The light coming fron the moon is just reflected sunlight. Also there would be reports of people turning up with teeth marks in their necks.

No of course not the legend was started from stories about Vlad the Impailer from Romania who was said to drink blood. There is also a disease that can be controlled by the drinking of blood.
It sure makes a good story.

I hope you don't seriously intend on being turned by one. It would really suck to spend all eternity as a complete loser! I don't even think vampire charm is that strong - you'd still be desperate and dateless!
