There is the American Gov't and the American people in this equation. I'm a Canadian, and I believe that the American people are truly a compassionate people that care about the welfare of others in the world. The American response to crises brought to their attention is a testimony to this.
But the Gov't is another issue. The Gov't is bought and paid for by special interests (not entirely different in Canada), that do not express the compassion of Americans.
Also, Americans are so caught up in loyalty to the flag, that to question the President, especially in a time of war, is considered dis-loyal. The American Democracy was founded on the right and ability to question your leaders. Why has this changed?

Sure, we are the fascist pigs that the rest of the world calls on when the wolf is at the door.
On the other hand, we do have a tendency to butt our noses into situations we have no apparent interest in.
All nations are about financial gain, we aren't any different there.
You can't really say we don't give a damn about others either. Many of us do not agree with some political policy, but many do.
That's the definition of a democratic republic. It's how our system works.

Nope, I totally agree with the news article I posted as a source here. And when you define freedom anyway, it exists in different meanings and cultures that is not universally consistent with America's. America, define freedom. Is it gotten through means of war wherein there is a hidden agenda? I myself hasn't seen a proof that America is righteous and truthful, at least, one where there's no hidden agenda or a means of obtaining more publicity.

yup you hit the nail right on the head. we don't give a **** about ya'll. we just care that we all get rich and continue to rule the world and let you think that you have a choice in your daily lives. the USA rules the world on a different level. Americans control your thoughts what you wear, how you act, who you hate, and who you love. it is funny to watch all of you bicker and complain about American when in reality you are America. we aren't free we are controlled by money and that is all don't ever think differently because if you do then you have been taken over by $$$.
