My husband died and I am grieving and how do you deal with grief and are there books that you would recommend to me to read about the grief process?

I'm sorry for your loss.

Many books are out there -- I'm going to search for some links... Here are some:

http://www.elisabethkublerross.com/
http://www.beyondindigo.com/grief/index.php
http://www.griefsupportservices.org/
http://www.helpguide.org/mental/grief_loss.htm
http://www.lamariposapress.com/grief_and_loss.html

Everyone grieves differently -- don't let others pressure you by telling you when it's time to"move on". Seek out counseling or a support group in your area.

It takes time, but the pain does subside... Hang in there.

First of all, my condolences to you (((hugs))).

Second, regardless of your religious faith, you may find that the "Tibetan Book of Living & Dying" can bring you some comfort & peace of mind.

You also can contact your local community hospice. Often they have "lending libraries" for books & audiotapes on grieving, and they have counselors who can help you through the grief process.

Bless your heart. I am so sorry to hear that. Do you go to church, and are you a christian. God is one of the best ones to talk to. Even though we can not understand why, God knows you are suffering and would like to help you through it. There are many books out there. I would go to the book store and just start looking. My father is on his death bed, and we are just waiting for it to be over with. I hope that doesn't sound cold, but he has inoperatable cancer. I think I can deal because I know he is a christian and going home to see the Lord, but I just don't know until it happens.

On Death and Dying (Kubler- Ross) is a book I once read for research and found it so helpful that I remember it for when I need it. I would recommend it to anyone- it has good info on grieving.
