I would have to say Trudeau... he was extremely intelligent and eccentric... with his cape and sports car, spoke both of our official languages fluently, and he made politics interesting to Canadians. Not to mention the Charter of Rights and Freedoms. I only wish I was around to see Trudeau-mania!

The best prime minister would have to be Laurier or Macdonald. Trudeau was good but he got alot of his ideas from his old party the NDP. Laurier helped expand the country by forming new provinces, providing the navy and becoming the first french canadian to be PM. Meanwhile Macdonald helped write the BNA and formed the railroad

I was around during Trudeau mania and I must say , that man had style. Clinton had nothing on him. Probably most Americans might agree with you.

I lived through many Prime Ministers in Canada.

I liked Brian Mulroney because he dared to go against the grain (and free trade is the best thing that was ever done for this country); however, I feel he handled the GST issue poorly. How dare he go to the Queen to push for more Senate seats just to push his GST bill through? That kind of arrogance has no place in Canadian politics.

Sir John A MacDonald because he was a blatant boozer and all truly great politicians are boozers. Check out sir Winston Churchill, George Washington. etc etc. Religious tea-totalers are bad people to have in power check out Adolf Hitler, Osama bin Laden, George Bush, etc etc
