No religious excuses. Christianity or any religion like it poses no actual argument for anti-homosexuality besides ignorant biases. Please, if you're going to answer this question, then answer in a LOGICAL manner

As the song says, "you have to be carefully taught." Some people get their hatred and bigotry from the way they were raised, whether it was bible-based or not.

Some people may try to give you quasi-biological reasons why gay/lesbian people shouldn't exist, like "the species will terminate." Please - there are enough straight people around having babies to show this as a specious argument. No one is asking EVERYONE to be gay.

Ignorant? i don't think so. I am opposed to homosexuality because it is not normal. What I mean by that is that all living creatures, plant and animal, have a male and female species to procreate. Put 2 males or 2 females together and they die off.

Sure 2 males or 2 females can be great friends, but not, as they put it, "life partners." Once that friendship turns from best buds to love and lust, someone's cheese has slipped off their cracker.

It's just plain wrong. And it says a lot for today's society that accepting it means that we are headed for disaster sooner than we think. This "born in the wrong body" thing is a cop-out, a denial that there is a serious mental problem here.

To all the people that think they are gay: get some help. This is an epidemic that must be stopped. Do your part and rid yourself of this mental deficiency.

After a few hours I see people confusing same-sex sexual activity with love. Yes, there may have been instances of sexual activity in monkeys, dolphins, etc, and ancient times were more acceptable in some cultures to the sex part of homosexuality, but never has anything chosen to love and live their life with another of the same sex-again, that's just not right!

Okay, first off, for all those who have given the little "homosexuality is not natural" schpeal, get a new argument. Homosexuality has been found in nature (monkeys, dolphins, etc. i.e. INTELLIGENT life such as ourselves), and those species aren't dying off. Think about it, there are almost 7 billion of us now. We're supposed to reach 15 billion in 30 - 40 years. We don't need to worry about our entire homo sapien species dying off from a "homo-demic." Wouldn't it do some good for more people to be gay and keep our population DOWN? In fact, wouldn't that make homosexuality a GOOD trait in an overpopulated species, such as humans? That would be good because it would keep us from severely overcrowding ourselves more than we already are; if we get even more crowded, we might all die off after all!
But anyway, back to the actual question..
People are so opposed to homosexuality (I think) because a. a strong religious background, b. severe homophobic tendencies or c. a mixture of a and b. Many people are brought up from a young age being preached at that two guys kissing is disgusting, immoral, wrong, etc.
I mean really, is homosexuality really THAT bad?
Uh.. no.
You're dumb.

It is not popular, the majority of American people don't want it, this is obvoius that any and everytime it comes up to a vote the american people vote it down.

Next the american public does not like having a life style forced upon it by court action when it can not win it any other way.

And no one should have to explain why being opposed to something that is just plain wrong has to be done.

It is the homoseuxal that has no real defense for thier lifestyle.

And of course since our entire government and its laws are based on Chrsitianity, and the majority of America are christain it is the best arguement.

And of course it is being homosexual that is ignorant when it is thier choice, if it is for a medical or mental defect then they need to work on finding the cause and cure.

You want an LOGICAL answer for an ILLOGICAL question?

Ok, i will not base my answer in religion..how about common sense? would that be ok?

You know ants, cockroaches, and other small animals, they have small brains..almost no brains at all.but they know that a female is for male..and a male is for female..you cant see a male cockroach having sex with a male cockroach..

Human have big brains..we are the most intelligent animals..why can't you realize that?

Would you agree that a cockroach or an ant is more intelligent that you?

There is no inborn homosexual human..just because of mans curiosity and influence of the society thats why homosexuality came into the picture..

It seems strange that Christians are so anti-gay when Jesus was clearly homosexual. The whole Da Vinci code hype about being married to Mary Magdelene just covers up the real secret.
I believe the fear of difference plays a big part in homophobia as it does in racism.

Religion isn't the only reason. People don't understand why a man would want to sleep with a man, or a woman with a woman. They don't agree with it, therefore, it must be wrong. So they judge them by that. They don't get to know them, they don't even give them more than a glance. It's how people are. Not everyone though.

People have always been scared of something they know nothing about, it is just human nature. That is the reason for all the prejuced in the world. People just have to have a reason for their problems and they will look anywhere but themselves. It does not matter wheather you blame diffrent races or religions or people with a diffrent sexual prefrence, it is still your problem and only you can solve it.

I believe wholeheartedly that it's ignorance, plain & simple.Uneducated ignorance. People are afraid of and prejudiced of things they know nothing about. And if they did know about homosexuality and still condemned it,I say who in bloody hell are they to judge ANYONE?!
Can u tell I'm on my soapbox here!? lol!
I know abit about predjudice, I'm tattooed & pierced.I know it's NOTHING compared to homosexuality, racism, etc.
Remember though that they have to face thier own judgements and condmnation in the end. Karma.
Wishing u The Best!!

I believe people are opposed to homosexuality because its different to them and people are afraid of the unknown. Some people see things that are different from them as strange and odd.
