Get a "Credit Builder" VISA Credit Card from Bank of America., it cost you $39.00 a year for the first two years. go to any Bank of America branch and tell them you want to apply for a regular VISA, once they rejected you on that one, their Credit Builder VISA kicks in. You'll get ONLY a $500.00 Credit Line, and you can't ask for more since this a credit builder card. On the one year anniversary, based on your performance, Bank Of America will increase your Credit Line to $1,000. and Again, you CANNOT ask for increments.

Please do yourself a big favor and do not apply for a credit card. Open a bank account and get a Debit Card. This will pevent yu from getting into debt. When you make purchases on a credit card, you are spending money that you do not have. With a debit card you can only spend as much as you have in the bank.
It is a fallacy that you need credit. Many people have destoyed their lives with the abuse of credit cards. There are so many penalties on credit cards. Late fees, activation fees, over limit fees, interest, so that a small puchase can end up costing many times the value of the goods puchased.
Owning 3 or 4 credit cards and making monthly payments on them is a form of slavery. You work for the credit card companies and you can have no money to do what you want to.
There is NEVER a good excuse for owning a credit card.

The best and safest way to get a credit card is simple. You first need to open a checking account with a bank of your choice. With this account comes the opportunity to get a credit card issued by the bank. You will start with a lower limit but also lower APR rates, lower hidden charges if any, and easier ways of payment. I wouldn't recommend any other way. Do this if you are going to get a credit card for they are evil. If you do get one, don't go maxing it out or going over your limit.

Just like the one woman said,"Stay away from the credit cards unless you make $50,000 per yer. If you do get one pay off your charge within the same month. Everyone is getting a check debit card, because of accidental over limits. It's credit, but your fine as long as you pay off the balance. Credit cards are a pain in the caboose if you don't manage them. I have 7 thousand dollars worth of credit at this time and I'm going to pay it off shortly. They're expensive, the payments get higher and higher, Ohhh and don't be late. There's no grace period. It takes forever to pay off a credit card if you only pay the minimum balance. I don't insure my card for one reason. It's extra money you don't need to pay. You're only required to pay $50.00 max if someone steals your credit card # if you contact them right away.

From the length and breath and depth of your questions, I would say that you already have half or more than half the battle won. You ask more questions that make sense than any answer I could give. I was going to say - STAY AWAY FROM CREDIT CARDS - PERIOD......So many people have lived to regret ownership - particulalry if they have no education, training and sometimes, just simple common sense about handling money. I know that if you over spend with a Visa that is connected to your checking account, you will spend more money trying to play catch up. I hate credit cards.

Since you don't have credit, it is hard to get a mastercard or visa right now. Unless you get one that is secured, they will turn you down in a heartbeat because of the no credit issue. There is one credit card that I heard of that does not report as secured on your credit report. It reports like a regular credit card and that is American Pacific Bank www.apbank.com it costs $200.00 to get one. This information that I have here is from a bankrupcy seminar that I attended with my mother on Orlando. Good luck!!
