Here in California it's $6.75, but I heard that it's going to rise to $8.00 and if it does, will those of us that make more than minimum wage get an increase too.

Most likely, yes. It will not make much difference though. Min. wage goes up then all the prices of everything else goes up. So all in all you will be making about the same as you did before. Vicious circle.
Indiana...min wage is $5.15. Sounds horrible compared to Cali, huh? Not really, because a house that would cost you a million there only cost about $150,000.00 here. Hell, that's a nice house here! We make less but we pay less too. It really doesn't matter what you make, you end up paying about the same as everyone else all over the country.

It doesn't matter, all it will do is cause inflation. I am no econ major but it makes sense that you raise the price people get paid then everything else will go up a little bit. So it might as well be $100 and we can then pay $40 for a pop.

Well, I live in Canada and where I live they increased minimum wage from 6.85 to 7.14 last year. People who made more were not entitled to an increase as well, and the prices in coffee shops and other places (where most employees made minimum )went up:(

In Tenn, I think it's about $5.60 - not nearly enough. And I sure don't understand how waitresses and other food service employees make in on the $2.15 per hour and tips. If you had a ratty personality, you'd be in bad shape with tips.
