I will leave work at 7 months but i will have to tell them when it starts getting visable so 3 months what should i say??

Im only 19

been a legal secretary for 3 years and am a justice of the peace

wot u think hehe im so excited i will be 19 when i give birth tho

You just have to tell them. Ask your boss if you can talk to him and then go someplace private and let him know that you are pregnant and tell him what your plans are for leaving at 7 months. Explain to him that you will be missing work for doctor appointments, but other than that you are still there to work and offer to help train a temp to replace you while you're on maternity leave. You can also ask any questions you have such as the company policy on maternity leave. This is probably something that your boss has dealt with before, it shouldnt' be a big deal.

2nd You are a liar because that would mean that you started working as a secretary at 16--------What about High School.

An what kind of dead end town would hire a 19 year old to be the Justice of the Peace.

FMLA (Federal Medical Leave Act) gives you 12 weeks of maternity leave. You can leave for 12 and then come back to the same job and pay rate. Company has to have been open a full year and has to have 50 employees in 50 mile radius. Good luck!

Just be honest with your immediate supervisor. It does not matter if you are 19, that is your business. Be excited and tell your boss that you are excited to share some great news. You are expecting. Let them know how long you intend to stay out and help them with some sort of coverage plan when you are on leave. For example, be sure that you make yourself available to train your temporary replacement.

Congrats! Don't be afraid to tell them. It's great news and something that you should celebrate!!

Talk to your boss as well as Human Resource to see how long of a maternity leave you can take. They may have a daycare service or some type of program for mothers so that you do not miss any work and have the funds to take care of your child's daycare provider. Good luck and congrats!

you're a JP? you mean "peace officer" or an actual judge? being a judge at 19 is extraordinary, to say the least, for anyone!

well you should tell them now and let them know you will be takin your sabaticale when you are 7 months until then you are going to continue workin they can not fire you for it that would be against the law and you could sue if they did..

Definitely tell them now. If you wait until it is obvious to onlookers that you are pregnant without saying anything, your superiors will think you are trying to hide it (and thus preventing them from planning around the maternity leave you require).

Tell them that you just found out, and that you intend to continue working until you take your maternity. Unless they are complete jerks, they will just make sure that you do not do anything strenuous, not fire you or try to cut your hours. And congrats, I am in the prego club myself, and also very excited!

No need to fear. You have been at your job longer than a year so you are protected under the law. you can take up to 12 weeks unpaid leave . Just be upfront with them most employers are pretty understanding.
