Is there some kind of trick to doing a French knot? When I follow the directions, it always ends up coming undone. I don't know what I'm doing wrong. I come up through a hole, wrap the thread around the needle once or twice, and then go down slightly next to the hole, through the fabric. It never works. Is there something else I should be doing?

I usually wrap it more like three or four times. If it still doesn't look right, I'll do it again, trying to use the same hole to come up through. Good luck!

lol... i went through the same dam thing....now what you do is...don't hold the needle and wrap it around the thread but hold the thread and wrap it around the needle

lets see...in my own words.

#1 bring needle through fabric
#2 with needle in right hand and thread in left, hold thread at the bottom and wrap it 3(or whatever u want)times around needle
#3 stick needle very close to hole where it came up from while pulling thread so that the wrap tightens up a bit around needle
#4 pull needle through fabric then wala! a french knot.

note: wrap thread around needle more than twice...it looks way better.
