Much like my posts in the past stated ITALY RULES! Todays result just validates what I already knew. Also not surprising is the same parade of pathetic losers that come up with all these sad excuses for why their team lost.
Italy did not take dives but replays showed a couple of cheap German shots. Even if that garbage was true, Italy got the 2 solid goals fair and square. The showed that they have the usual steel trap defence and an potent offence. An offence that was suppose to be shut down by the Germans - didn't quite work out that way did it.
I hope these people don't hurt themselves jumping off the German bandwagon like they did Brazil's a few days ago.

FORZA Italia!! However, the team that wins on Sunday will be the best team... The defensive record of Italy is very impressive (1 own goal all tournament so far and 4 games now without a goal conceded overall...

Found this article on Google News ..
quote:
The two men who destroyed Australia in the round of 16 were stand-out characters in the normal duration of the game. But not for their football. Francesco Totti and Fabio Grosso put on an exasperating exhibition of theatrical diving and gamesmanship, rolling over at the slightest contact with the opposition on several occasions.
I was right about the Italian players and their acting and diving abilities ...
But anyway, I support Italy now ... they'll beat France in the final ...
FORZA ITALIA ...

Don't count out Portugal. They're hungry for a win and they're being led by Scolari. France also has great defense and Zidane is playing like he's from another planet. I agree that Buffon is a great goalie but I wouldn't say he's the best. I was impressed by Ricardo from Portugal although I wouldn't place him in the same category as Buffon. Italy may be surprised yet. We'll see.

OK My team has always been Germany and second Brazil... yes, Italy won this game but that doesn´t make them the best team in the world. They just won a game. If you put to good teams to play a lot of games it wouldn´t always won the same one so NO it is not the best team in the world. It beat Ones of The best Teams of the World.Go Germany Third place !!!

umm, i hate to burst your bubble, but italy is not the best. they have some real tallent, but they need to win another game before theire the best. And the best Goaly in the world, according to stats, is the netherlands Van De Sar. THeir defence is good, but in the fianls its offense that counts. And they are not EASILY the best team, all of their games have been hard fought, such as the one against new-comers Ghana. SO Easily, no. THe best, well that remains to be seen.

I have not seen Italy play this good since '94 when Roberto Baggio was on the team. I think this time around they will show the world that they can be #1 and since my other favorite teams, Brazil and Argentina, have been eliminated, it's time for the AZZURI to prove that they can once again be champions!

Easily would be they'd finish teams off in regulation. It took them until almost the end of overboring time to beat Germany. After July 9, you can maybe then start to talk about this.
Only Brazil '70 would you consider "easily" the best in the world at the time.
