It depends. What kind of hair do you have? If you have curley hair you should, While your hair is wet,rub a dollop of gel between your fingers then run your fingers through your hair. Keep your fingers out of your hair. The more you touch the more it frizzes! Comb your hair into place while wet, then let air dry. If you must use a hairdryer, attach a defuser-a piece of net or plastic come shape that fits over the end of your dryer. If you have thick hair you should: Your stylist might be able to thin your hair with special styling sheers. This should not be done to offten however. A layered style may help ypur hair look less thick, especially if it is long. After shampooing smooth a DAB of gel through your fingers to help tame the frizzes and keep it neat. If you have thin hair shampoo it with a valumizer shampoo-It will coat the hair to make it look better and thicker. Go easy on CONDITIONER-it can weigh your hair down. Try blow-drying your hair "upsie down"to make it appear fuller. Bend from the waist, letting your hair hang down, and blast with your blow-dryer until neatly dry. Strighten up and finish styling.

Your "best" look for yourself shouldn't be determined by anyone else- not even by a magazine. See, everyone has different body types and hair types, there is no "perfect" look that works for everyone. To "wow" your family, you should find the look that's right for your body and hair and face type.
For hair, figure out what your face shape is. If you don't know, walk through a mall and just ask the different hairstylists in different places what it is - they'll tell you, even if they're not cutting your hair. My face shape is heart, so super long straight styles wouldn't look good on me, no matter how good the cut was. If you have a long or oval face, go with a bob that is about chin length, this will break up the longevity. If you have a round face, go with a straight and long look to create longevity. Long earrings also create this look. Hairstylists will tell you how your hair can best complement you.
As for body and style, this depends on your build. I am slightly overweight, so I can't subscribe to the trendy low-rise jeans and tight t-shirts, even though I wish I could. I need clean vertical lines in a tailored cut to look my best. I don't know your body type, but you do - no matter how trendy and cute something is, it won't always work for certain body types. Try on different styles, even stuff you've never looked at before - I guarantee you something you wouldn't even look at on a rack would look good on your body. Look deeper, try EVERYTHING on. Your body will show you what it looks best in, just give it a chance to!
Good luck!

Find a good beautician (if you can afford one). One you trust. Most of them know whats best for you. They can suggest the right shampoo, conditioner, etc. Once you get a style you like ask their advice on how to maintain it.
You can also ask your family members what they did to get that beautiful hair and style. They should be happy to extend their tips to you, I would think.

Style? That is your own...you own that and should embrace what you have. But, if you want to improve or look like someone else...just ask for help.
Hair? Go to a salon and talk to someone...they can give you tons of suggestions. You can wow your family with just a small change...go try it out.
