I've played and so do my kids. I've always taught my kids the difference between fantasy and reality and they seem to be just fine!

Classic video games question. Do video gamesd influence children? The bottom line is yes they do. Of course they do. But that's why video games companies have to include MA 15+ ratings because IT'S NOT SUITABLE FOR YOUR ******' 8 YR TO PLAY! I cannot strees that more. I am a 21 year old male and I play Farcry, I am old enough to know that shooting people is a stupid thing to do. There is no specific age for children to know the difference between video game and reality, that job is left to the parents. Parents can blame video companies for whatever they hell they want, but the fact is if you let your underage kid play a MA 15+ game and you don't explain to the child that this is just a game, then you are an idiot and you should take your kid to the nearest adoption agency. Parents blame video companies, video companies blame parents it's a cycle that's never going to end. Grand Theft Auto rules the gaming world as the best game ever created (that's what I think) and should never have been censored. If someone says '****, that's and awesome movie' no one should care, but if someone says **** you buddy' then they have every right to be offended, it's all in the context. I could go on for HOURS but I think I have made my point.

I think the game is fine for adults. I also think that violence in the media is a huge issue that is not going to be solved by you asking this questions. I believe in free will. I also believe that kids can immitate what they think is cool and they can be easily manipulated, that's how hate groups are still around, neo-nazi's pick out the angry youth and give them someone to direct their rage toward. I don't think that games have the same type of power over kids but there have been crimes committed by people that mimic movie plot lines, people may get the ideas from what they see but they have a choice to repeat what they see. Children are still developing and cannot reason as completely as adults and therefore are not treated as adults in the judicial system. They may be more capable of repeating something they see and that is why many adults monitor their children's exposure to media as much as possible.

I like it.
Its fun to be able to do stuff that you can't do in real life
i think that if kids immitate it they play too many video games in general and can't tell the difference from real life and the games they play.

Well... Kids should not AT ALL play that game. They'll be exposed to stuff they shouldn't! Especially little kids. I mean: HELLO. But I'm not sure kids would imitate the stuff in it... They might have some affect from it. I mean, kids 14 and under... And yeah, kids shouldn't play it.

It's not the game that's the problem. It's parents who don't want to raise their kids right. Who would rather blame TV or video games than accept that they screwed up.
Normal, well adjusted people don't go around running over pedestrians in real-life because it's fun. They do it in games and realise that it's just that: a GAME.

I do not think little kids should be playing violent games because it puts ideas into their heads. A game like the one you mentioned should be for grown ups only.

If they are foolish enough to immitate what they see, they will already be on their way to eliminating the problem by making an example of themselves and teaching others how foolish it is to take games seriously.
