You'll always have some amount of cervical mucus during the course of the month. It just changes consistancy. Typically when you are close to your period..it is thick and white. If you are pregnant...you might find more of that occuring than normal.

Youll always have cervical mucus (aka "discharge"). The consistancy will determine what stage of your cycle you are in. If your CM is clar and eggwhite-like, youre ovulating. If its sticky, thick and white, the your period is on its way. If its almost "watery", ovulation is about to occur.

Almost makes you want to puke, but its a good way to get to know your body!

you always have cervical musuc, it just changes through ur cycle
if it's not bloody and it doesn't have an unusual and unpleasant odor, if you are not itchy and you dont experience burning when urinating, you're fine.
you should call ur doctor if you have any of the above symptoms or u notice that ur mucus is unusually abundant and stays abundant for at least 2 weeks.
good luck
